These cameras have always been on point. The resolution is great and their different features are perfect for what you want them to alert you about. I am moving soon to a bigger home and bought 2 more to cover my property. Easy to install and reliable and I use the solar-powered one so I do not have to be concerned about charging them ever. I recommend them to everyone who is looking for some peace of mind and security without the breaking of the wallet to do so.
Easy to set up now that I got the 1st one done. Only 1 problem, one keeps going offline, otherwise love them!
I've bought in the past some other wireless cameras, but so far this is my favorite, I'm very happy with my purchase. This is a very well made device, sturdy, with great optics and two convenient features that my other cameras don't have: a siren alarm and a flash light that go off when the camera detects motion .
I found the camera quite easy to set up, it requires the Dzees app which guides you through the steps, very simple and intuitive. To install the camera, you can find in the box two metal mounts (one for the camera and one for the solar panel) and one magnetic bracket (with a VERY strong magnet) if you'd rather have the camera installed with it. I chose to install it with the metal mount just to make it a little more difficult to have it removed in case someone tried to.
After you have the camera installed at your preferred location -as well as the solar panel-, you can go to the app to customize it according to your preferences: standard definition or high definition image, length of the recordings, turn on/off the siren alarm, turn on/off the flash light, etc.
After everything is set up, if the device detects any motion it will send a push notification to your phone (and the alarm and flash light will go off if they are enabled), then in the app you can watch the recording of the event that triggered the notification. It couldn't be more simple. The camera has a hidden SD card slot if you want to have the activity recorded on it, however it's not necessary to have one since the manufacturer keeps the recordings available for 7 days at the Dzees cloud at no cost. You can hire other plans if you'd like to.
The recordings are quite good, the image quality is remarkable, a very significant improvement over the other cameras I own.
Pros of the camera:
* Great optics.
* Siren alarm
* Flash light alarm.
* Solar panel (so you don't have to climb a ladder every 2-6 months to recharge it).
* Large battery for the days you don't get enough sunlight.
* Free cloud access.
Cons:
* None so far.
Box included everything for installation/mounting and users manual on setting up the camera, connecting it to your router for 2.4ghz. Battery came almost fully charged and was plugged into a wall USB charger to fully charge the battery before mounting outside. Signal strength read from medium to strong for outside use and this was at the opposite end of the house where the router is (basement). Changed the motion detection to low to avoid over detection, mounted the solar panel along the front outside of porch on the driveway side and the camera mounted to the back porch column for less obvious visibility. This covers the driveway, part of the front yard and the road off the driveway. It does pick up vehicles on the road off the driveway but I am not concerned about the frequent notifications. Always good to see what vehicles are constantly going up and down the street just as a precaution if someone were casing the house. The application seems to work fairly well. The options are easy to navigate and adjust settings. Unit seems to be solidly built. The video quality is outstanding and the night vision (using infrared mode only at this time) is clear and distinct. The cable for the solar panel is plenty long I believe 10 feet and is charging the battery just fine. The cable connects to the underside of the camera unit after moving the rubber covering away from the bottom to expose the charging port, micro sd card, and power button. I am concerned about moisture getting into the unit from hard, blowing rains. Kind of wish the charging port was a separate rubber plug hinge to allow the solar cable to plug directly into the underside of the camera without having to move the rubber covering exposing the other components thus making it a more complete seal. I chose the mounting bracket over the magnetic base. The solar panel and camera were mounted to the end of the porch on the porch columns. Anyone who has stopped in the driveway has not even noticed it. Very pleased with the unit which monitors the driveway and street and will be looking to get another one to monitor the front porch/door and one for the back of the house.
